What follows are the rules of our forum and some reminders for good etiquette. I expect all of our members to abide by them, there is nothing untoward in here, just some common sense stuff that will make sure this remains a great community...

So far, we have only had to use any of the measures listed below on very rare occasions, but by having them displayed here, everyone understands what can and can't be done and the steps that will be taken as necessary.

We have a great community going here, so all being well, they can be read once and then left alone to get covered in dust and cobwebs...we're all here to HAVE FUN so let's keep it friendly and enjoy each others company!

The Rules...

• No running on the green (no, I'm only joking )
• Keep it friendly. Personal attacks will not be tolerated, and will result in warnings and/or bans from this web site. You may not target another member to threaten, harass or cause distress or embarrassment.
• Members should remember that this board is open to a general audience. For every registered member visiting each day, we have 5+ un-registered visitors to the forum. Therefore posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning, or possibly a permanent ban.
• Site moderators reserve the right to move, edit or delete any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is at the sole discretion of moderators and the administrator. Moderators decisions in this regard are final and not open to appeal.
• Posters who, in the judgement of the moderators and/or administrator, post for the sole reason of being disruptive (commonly referred to as trolling) may be subjected to an immediate ban without warning.
• We typically practice a 3 strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of 3 times for any and all rule violations. If a fourth warning is issued, a temporary ban will be placed on that member. Under some circumstances, a permanent ban may be put into effect at the discretion of the moderators and/or administrator.
• Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the Administrator to appeal. Users who wish to question a moderator's judgement or actions MUST use the private messaging system. Arguing with moderators in the open forums is strictly prohibited.
• This site is provided to everyone (and paid for by) by ‘Julian Haines BowlsÂ’. You may not use these forums to advertise your products, services, web sites, or otherwise solicit business or web traffic from the membership as a whole. Blatant advertisements in the forums will be viewed as spam and be removed. This rule also applies to signatures, avatars and the private messaging system. Blatant spammers may be banned without warning. Links to other bowls retailers and direct price comparisons will be removed in fairness to Julian.

  Note: Simple text links to your web site(s) are allowed in signatures or your profile. The site Administrator and Moderators have final say on what constitutes spam anywhere in these forums. We are of course happy for a link to any club or association.

• We reserve the right to edit, move or remove any content from these forums at any time for any reason without notice or liability. We reserve the right to revoke any or all privleges of, or ban any member at any time without notice or liability.

Signatures

• All signatures must be of a font size no greater than 3
• Any smilies used in the signature should be *non* animated.
• Signatures should be no greater than 4 lines in length.
• Graphic signatures should be static (no animated gifs) and of a size no greater than 350x75px.

Etiquette

• Always try to post in the right section of the forum. This makes it easier for people to find the topics they are most interested in and will mean that you are most likely to get the answers your after! Moderators will move threads to the right section when necessary.
• Please do not cross-post or double-post topics... i.e. starting a thread that already exists elsewhere. Moderators will close duplicate threads as and when necessary.
• Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. If you would like to quote from another site, wherever possible we ask that you post the source of the text and/or a courtesy link back to the orignal source.
• Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". There is usually no need TO SHOUT.

We reserve the right to amend these rules as and when deemed appropriate and without warning.
